Friendship and Thank You in the Key of Blue

I needed to make some friendship cards and was inspired by some fun sticky felt and sheet from a big stack of K & Company paper I’d bought ages ago, so I made four cards with them in shades of blue and green.

I’d never used the chipboard from a set of card-making supplies I got from Close to My Heart, so it was fun to use this butterfly.  The white part is glossy and it resisted the ink I applied to the chipboard with a dauber.

It doesn’t show up very well, but I added a thin line of Stickles glitter glue to the top of the decorative paper.  If you’re looking for a way to add pizzazz to a card, I highly recommend Stickles.  I’ve tried other glitter glues and this brand is really the best.  The stamped sentiment and decorative stamp around the words is from Close to My Heart.

The stamp and decorative edger punch are from Stampin’ Up! and I also used my favorite Spellbinders to cut out the paper around “Thank You.”

I’ve seen these tags at Impress Rubber Stamps‘ clearance sections for years and when the Making Memories Tag Curler was in the 50% off bin, I bought it and made my first card with it!  I’m hooked – I love this tool and these cute little tags.  The “Thank You” was from Close to My Heart and the bird stamp and punch are from Stampin’ Up!

Thank You Cards with a House Theme

One of times I was shopping at Craft Warehouse in Gresham, OR last year, I came across some adorable coordinating paper by American Crafts.  I sell houses for a living (well, I like to say I enjoy connecting sellers with buyers), so I am attracted to house themed stamps, paper, ribbon, candle holders, etc.  I had a need to thank several friends, so I was happy to find that these papers worked well together.  I used heavy paper tape I found at Hobby Lobby in Fort Collins, CO; wrote “THANK YOU” with a sparkly Copic AtYou Spica marker; used my favorite Modern Label punch from Stampin’ Up!, and some various eyelets from my stash.
I ran out of the one sheet of 12″ x 12″ floral background paper, so that gave me an excuse to make a few different house themed thank you cards with some other fun paper from DCWV and Basic Grey.
Here is a close-up of one of the cards.

Elegant Thank You Cards

I have a lot to be thankful for in my life.  Lately, my true friends and some family members have stepped up and shown support when others have failed me.  I am so grateful for the people God has blessed me with in my life, and I am stronger because I have God and those people to lean on.  I have a magnet that says, “I’m only as strong as the coffee I drink.”  Well, I’d rather have one that said, “I’m as strong as the One I lean on.”

So, here are some more thank you cards I’ve made for some friends I’ve seen recently.  If they read my blog, they’ll just have to wait and see which one from these last two posts will show up in their mailbox next week.  😉

These cards came together easily because I used coordinating cardstock from the glittery Garden Party collection by DCWV. I also used an American Crafts MiniMarks “Mail Phrases” rub-on transfer, a Cricut cartridge, a Fiskars Punch, a ki memories embellishment, a Crop-a-Dile Corner Chomper, CTMH ribbon, and odds and ends.

THANK YOU for reading my blog post and have a great weekend!
